I recently received a call from a friend who was all excited about the upcoming release of 4th edition Dungeons and Dragons. Since I have not gotten my hands on a rule book yet (well OK no one has except maybe some play testers) I can't talk about the quality of the game or the mechanics in the game. What I can talk about is Wizards of the Coast and their transparent attempts to empty our pockets. Don't get me wrong I do not begrudge anyone making money. I have happily spent hundreds of dollars a year on gaming supplements for most of my life, and I hope the companies I spend money on succeed because they are producing products I enjoy. What I am talking about is how WotC has started the disturbing trend of releasing a new version of D&D every three or four years.

First they released 3rd Edition in 2000. The game was flawed from the start. It was less than a month after it came out that the group I played with started making up house rules to repair its inadequacies. Three years later they released version 3.5 which "fixed" the flawed system. The worst thing is many of the things that were fixed had to have been discovered in play testing if we discovered them in less than a month of play. You will not be able to convince me they didn’t know the original 3.0 was flawed. Then they started re-printing all the books they had released to date upgraded for 3.5. This was nothing more than programmed obsolescence in my opinion. They sucked us in to 3rd edition… then "fixed" it so we would buy all the books for it twice. And now that D&D 3.5 is going strong they announce that 4th edition is on the horizon. Other than there being WAY too many books out for it to keep track of D&D 3.5 is fine as it is. There is no need of a 4th Edition, and this is just another attempt to sucker us all into buying the books we already own for a third time! They will just be revamped as 4th Edition.

I personally do not intend to spend one penny on 4th edition, and I strongly suggest everyone else do the same (or not do the same as the case may be). There are better games out there than D&D anyway, or keep playing 3rd edition if you like it. Just because WotC is releasing a new edition does not mean we should buy into it. It makes me sick to see my fellow gamer geeks taken advantage of, and I hate Wizards of the Coast for ripping us off. I gave up giving WotC money for Magic the Gathering a long time ago because I realized that it was just a trap designed to get more and more of my money. Now they are doing the same thing with D&D and I do not intend to let them take advantage of me. 4th Edition is specifically being released to make all our old stuff obsolete, and I’m not falling for it.

Once again proof Wizard’s of the Coast is Evil! The Wal-mart of the gaming Industry!

Anyone have open player slots for a game in or around Berkeley, CA?

I can run Prime Time Adventures (a really fun & simple RPG about roleplaying TV Shows -- whatever genre you like), or would be happy to hop into a new or existing game of something ...

that is NOT D&D.

I'm not digging Hasbro, not liking the (from my viewpoint) racist gameworld of D&D where the 'good European heroes' go and crush the other inferior 'monstrous' societies. Anyone noticed that the darker races in D&D are often ... evil? Kinda strange, kinda disappointing -- but leaves the fantasy world WIDE OPEN for any creative writers wanting to make a more culturally neutral fantasy world. (Anyone?)

Frankly, I don't really mind d20 Modern, although I find the 'prestige class' concept of d20 games to be bad design.
If they had just left d20 as "core stat classes" and feats, I'd be happier about it -- and it'd be a lot easier to make NPC's!
But it's not, so whatever -- d20 Modern is not my first choice, but it'd be OK.

When President Bush ordered troops to Iraq, he probably never imagined that he would be ultimately be responsible for what very well could be the very first D&D convention/game day ever held in a war zone. Ziggurat Con, being held June 9 from 1200 to 2100 hours at Camp Adder/Tallil Airbase, is open to all allied military personnel and civilian contractors in Iraq.

KBR and MWR (the army’s Morale Welfare & Recreation Department) have graciously allowed service members to use part of the Community Activity Center to hold the Game Day. The Ping Pong room will be set up for RPGs (Role-Playing Games, not to be confused with the rocket propelled grenades which share the same acronym), and the DVD Movie room will be playing Anime Movies all day in support of the event.

The largest problem with running a Con in Iraq, of course, is that there are no local stores or game publishers, and few game books on the post. Even dice are in short supply, with many soldiers breaking the unwritten taboo held by many gamers and sharing dice. Thankfully, many game publishers have also lent their support, and have agreed to supply game products to help the Con along. aethereal FORGE, Sovereign Press, Final Redoubt Press, Goodman Games, Paizo Publishing and Steve Jackson Games are among those that have thrown in their support for the convention. But Amberson indicated that the soldiers could definitely use more.

"This convention is currently in drastic need of prizes and giveaways for the troops," he said. "Everything donated will go directly to the troops, or to MWR to use as loaner books for the soldiers."

For more information, contact SPC David Amberson at the following address: david.amberson (at) iraq.centcom.mil

Donations can also be sent to SPC Amberson directly at the following address:

SPC David Amberson
A Co 86th Sig Bn
APO, AE 09331

They’re planning to run the following games (and will be happy to get additional games):
Babylon 5 RPG, Cyberpunk 2020, D&D, D&D RPGA, GURPS, Historic Miniatures Battles, Magic Tournament, MechWarrior Miniatures, Rifts, Shadowrun, Starship Troopers, White Wolf System-Vampire, White Wolf System-Werewolf, XCrawl

Got any game books crowding your shelves that you never use? Here's a great cause to donate them to. Spread the word.

We would love anything we can get. We do have a White Wolf game here, but not much in the line of books, mostly the older editions. We will have a small LARP game that we are trying to get permission to have happen at the Ziggurat for which the con is named (A LARP at a historical site that has been around since Biblical times - WOW). Gamer related material would be absolutely awesome!! It takes 2 weeks or less when shipping Priority, so you still have time.

My address is as follows:
SPC David Amberson
A Co 86th Sig Bn
APO, AE 09331

Thank you so much for your support,

Please support our gaming troops!

On the profile page will be little more than the profiles blog (to show the "rules" and "situation"), the "view my friends blogs" module (which is where the game would play out through blogs on each players site), and a callendar listing game dates.

Each blog post would need to start with a setting and time frame such as: "The next morning over at city hall", or "Later that evening on the docks" but it wouldn't be that difficult.

Parents obsessed with playing Dungeons & Dragons, leave babies to starve

They were too busy playing video games

By Dan Freeman, GameRush Entertainment

Posted July 15, 2007
U.S. authorities say a couple from Reno, Nevada was so obsessed with playing video games online that they left their babies to starve.
According to the Sunday Telegraph, the parents have now pleaded guilty to child neglect after their 22-month-old boy and 11-month-old girl were found severely malnourished and close to death.

The girl, weighing just 10 pounds, reportedly had to have her head shaved because it was matted with cat urine. She also suffered from a mouth infection, dry skin, and severe dehydration. Her brother was treated for starvation, a genital infection, and, due to lack of muscle development, difficulty walking.

The children are now doing well and regaining weight in foster care. Their parents, Michael Straw, 25, and Iana Straw, 23, now face up to 12 years in prison. Prosecutors say the couple was too distracted playing Dungeons & Dragons online to give their children proper care.

“They had food, they just chose not to give it to their kids because they were too busy playing video games,” said Kelli Ann Viloria, a public prosecutor.

Straw is an unemployed cashier and his wife does warehouse work for a staffing agency. The couple reportedly spent a $50,000 inheritance on computer equipment and a plasma television.

So I've seen a lot of threads and comments criticizing WoTC for publishing D&D 3.5 books, or even pre-criticizing the company for imagined flaws in as-yet-unannounced 4e books.

In the interest of full disclosure, I've been playing TSR or WoTC products for around fourteen years; the bulk of that play time has been spent with 2nd Edition, but I played 1st Edition, and the various D&D box sets (Basic, Expert, the blue and red boxes...etc.). Currently the D&D campaigns I run use 3rd Edition Core rules as their foundation.

Now, to my mind, roleplaying has always been a fringe hobby, marginalized and always under threat of diminishment or extinction. So, while I'm typically uninterested in supplements or periphery books, I'm perfectly happy if WoTC can produce them and turn a profit on them, because it means that they'll be able to continue to publish roleplaying products without bleeding money. Which means the hobby will remain strong, and new players will continue to flow into our community. So, when 3.5 was published, I didn't have any interest in it, but I don't begrudge WoTC it. If there are roleplayers out there that are interested in the updates to the 3e rules that 3.5 offers, I'm glad that they're able to purchase 3.5 books and I hope that it helps them better appreciate our hobby. And, as importantly, I'm glad the sale of those books helps keep companies like WoTC afloat and interested in publishing roleplaying materials.

So, when I see posts like "don't buy the new books" it upsets me. That attitude strikes me as intolerant and detrimental to the hobby as a whole. I understand that people are uncomfortable with vaguely menacing corporate entities assuming responsibility for their favorite systems and making changes they don't like; I feel that way myself. But I'm comforted by the idea that the people creating these systems are geeks like myself, and no suit will ever be able to corrupt the flow of ideas between intellectuals, regardless of the number of pies into which they stick their greasy fingers. But, more than that, I'm comforted by the fact that I needn't ever buy another roleplaying product if I don't want to, and all the old systems are just as viable now as they were the day they were published. After all, isn't one of the most wonderful things about RPGs the fact that you can alter at will absolutely any facet of any system that isn't to your liking, and create elements wholecloth that the system's designers never imagined?

This is a long post, but there's one other thing I wanted to mention. Several people have complained about 3e being too nit-picky and rules-oriented, to the point that it interferes with roleplaying or dictates player's actions. For me, the crux of the issue is this: 3e provides rules for specific situations (Bull Rushing, or concealment, for instance) that a rules junkie can reference if he desires, but that are just as easily ignored or created on the fly by a DM who likes to play looser and faster with the rules. And the idea of feats somehow limiting the actions a character can take, or of the new classes and the feat system somehow making characters ridiculously powerful, just seems completely alien to me. I guess I've never experienced those problems and don't have any context to understand those complaints. For me, if a character group is becoming "too powerful" it simply means that I'm not providing appropriate challenges. It's easy enough to modify any monster or encounter to increase or decrease the level of danger and challenge they'll present to the PCs. But, I'd really love input and some elaboration about those complaints.

Anyway, sorry for rambling. As a side note, this whole community (which I stumbled onto completely by blind luck) is amazing, and it's so great to know that there are other, old school, hardcore pen and paper RPGers still out there even in the WoW era.
Now, James Webb Morrow is 45 years old, with his own home and a live in Girl friend. Monday nights are my gaming nights. We have 8 players in this game cutting up and making the most of a week night.
Much has been said about the up coming 4th edition of Dungeons and Dragons. In truth, I have been one of those who have said things about this game. Do I like it? No. Am I going to buy the Game? Yes. ( smile)
In my very short 45 years of age, I have met few people who are regular players of Role Playing Games. Different RPGs appeal to different
tastes. Most Role Playing Games are enjoyed on the computers. Look at World of Warcraft and EverQuest. People are more familiar with these games. Playing on a computer is very easy. It is not so easy to get people to meet with you face to face and go through the motions of making a character and learning a New World.
Call me a self admitting system snob. In truth, I prefer games that are simple and will allow me to get the players in the game fast. There are a number of games that will allow this.
What got you into Role Playing games? What are your players like? What is your Game Master like? Believe it or not, the players and game masters make the game. It is not the system. We could talk about Dungeons and Dragons all day. It does not matter. much the same could be said of GURPS.
What keeps you from joining so many hundreds of thousands of online people? Yes, you could play both, but I know people who ONLY play the online games and never the table top versions. Role Playing Games, what got you started?

Recently, we have had a new store open. in fact, it has only been opened for about two weeks now. While Howard Holland has had some business, it is not enough to make a guy like me happy. In the 1980s, his store would have been over run with customers, now, I have fears he will have to do something radical in order to get the customers he needs.
I much prefer table top Games to computer gaming. Some how, you just don't get that social activity from computer games as you get form a buddy across the table. I wil do what i can in order to get my fandom buddies into Howard's store. he ahs plenty of room for gamers.

I was reading this board just now and I saw Jon’s reply to someone looking to set up a play testing game in the SF bay area, and he said that he didn’t have tie time to commit to a weekly group. This brought up an interesting thought and I was wondering what other people think.

Before I say what I am about to please understand that this is in no way a judgment of anyone. I understand people have lives and responsibilities to things more important than gaming. However, if you can not commit to a game… why play? Being a player who has made room in my life to make a commitment to a weekly game I find players who do not make this commitment aggravating to say the least. What is so hard about setting a regularly scheduled day and time to gather with your friends to participate in a hobby you enjoy? People make this kind of time for all kinds of other things; Yoga classes, Martial Arts, Dance Lessons, Pottery Classes… I am sure you can think of lots more. Why out of all these hobbies does Gaming take a back seat? Why is it OK to disappoint the people you game with but not your Karate instructor?

Sorry I have been ranting and I don’t want it to sound like that. But, it just seems to me that Gaming is a hobby that is worth committing to. It also seems to me that it is simple etiquette to do exactly as Jon did in his post and abstain from participating if you can’t make that commitment. Gamers who only show up part of the time are disruptive to game play, and I am fortunate enough to game with a group of guys who agree with me, and we have refused to allow people to game with us who have proven themselves unreliable.

So… weigh in everyone! Am I just being a jerk or are gamers that refuse to make room in their life for the game just as annoying to the rest of you?

We have had this coroborated by the fact that when we leave my cell phone number and say that I am the DM, we get calls from the same people, who then want to come over and play...
I'm hosting a game in SF tomorrow at around 6:30 and, although we already have a few people in, the more the merrier!

The game looks like it's going to be either Prime Time Adventures, GURPS scifi, Universalis, or just general board games, but if anyone feels strongly about any of them, it will go a long way to determine what we play.

So, if you're interested, message me asap and let me know your preference!

Has anyone here checked out the d20 stuff put out by Amarillo Design Board for Prime Directive? In hopes of getting a nice pre-made d20 Star Trek rules set I ordered the main book. Now granted, they're the same folks who do the Starfleet Battles game, which is a non-canon version of the Trek universe around TOS era. So it has it's own timelines, races, etc. Fair enough, but I found the supplement poorly done in what I've looked through so far (at least for Character Classes). I was wondering ifanyone has it/uses it, so I could get some pros/cons I hadn't seen yet.

So far the most notable detraction is that the Naval Line Officer (which was a sensible creation since helm/nav/weapons are all very similar) is specific to SFB rules set, which requires that you use these rules to gain any benefit from this class. While I do happen to have that rules set, there's no way on earth my RPG freinds would go for a session of that, so I did have to re-do the class to fit with a more 'pure trek' setting.

Another problem is more with the thoroughness of the product. Unlike their exhaustive rules sets for SFB, this supplement suffers from internal organization problems. The Naval Line Officer class, for example, has reference to several skills (Strategy, Tactics-Int Skills) that are not listed in the master skill list. Class Abilities are frequently listed out of order, as are some skills. I also disagree with some skill choices (notably under knowledge skills).

I also feel that the author may have been a touch too "Spock Happy". Vulcans have some pretty good bonuses, but the ECL is listed as "Optional: +3" (WTF?). Science Officers also receive a d8 for hit points where most other Starfleet classes get d6s. They get a lot of skill bonuses as well, though this may be perfectly fine, I have yet to go through this as thorougly.

That said, I did like their treatment of most of the other naval classes, at least to read over them. The next challenge is finding a group that would play this.

If anyone has/uses this rules set, drop us a line and tell us what ya think!

We're going to start out a season of Prime Time Adventures at my house in North Berkeley. I live very close to Monterey Market and near the N.Berkeley BART station, and am happy to give out all the nec. info to anyone that's interested in attending.

We're looking for 5-9 players, and so far it looks like we've got 2-3 lined up.

One joy of PTA is that we don't have the scenario/story worked up, so it'll be pitched by everyone at our first meeting, and then we'll run a 'pilot' session. I will be The Producer of the series.
Players will both play characters & describe their scenes as we play out show episodes. We're looking at 5 episodes for Season 1, possibly more depending on how many players show, and we can do a few seasons if this works well.

(While I personally have a passion for scifi, comedy, and adventure, I have no idea whether the game will involve ANY of those things. We'll see!)

I have 1 copy of the 2nd Edition PTA book. If you care to come & don't have the book, don't worry -- but if you have a copy of 1st or 2nd Ed, please bring it along!

Hi. I'm in Alameda, kinda wondering if anyone in the East Bay/SF/nearby is interested in a Shadowrun game, most likely 4th edition (if I end up running) or 3rd edition (as a player, I'm flexible and have both books). As for the day...weekday evenings are possible in the East Bay, and I can travel further on weekends (Saturday daytime or Sunday anytime preferred).

Alternatively, if anyone knows of an SR game looking for (or willing to accept) a new player, that'd be awesome.

So… I offered to run Hero System. In my last group hero was a staple. This new group reacted like Hero System was evil. The loudest complaint was that the System requires too much math. Frankly I do not thing it requires that much math, but I was wondering what this board as a whole thought of hero system. I have always thought it was a great well balanced system, with a good streamlined play system.

I also have a Treasure Trove of Star Wars CCG cards. (Decipher... not the new upstart WOTC game)

In addition to that I have an Impressive collection of Star Trek Cards, from first edition, which I've never convinced a soul to play with me! I don't even know how. I have like five decks of that built.

I collect Star Wars minis; Heroclix; and a little heroscape... and I've made some impressive 3D terrain for the minis games, with plans for more. I made my own cards for heroclix.

I have a short stack of board games, not to mention scads of defunct card games like "Imagica", "Dragonball Z", and "Overpower", "Illuminati: New World Order", (I have alot of OVerpower, and Illuminati, made into alot of decks.. not sure how many!) Plus Gaming books from the last age of D&D (2nd ed). My roomate has every 1st & 2nd edition Whitewolf book in the entire World of Darkness run.
I've been trying recently to see if I can't get people together for gaming nights. Not for Tabletop RPG per se... I already do that once a week. (We write our own systems as we go along... no more store-bought games for us... we gave them up ten years ago.) But to play matches of card games, minis games... something to make my obsessive collecting worthwhile.

The gamers I play with weekly are disinterested in Miniture and card games. I really can't see why... but to each his own. so, I'm looking for additional comrades who want to engage in some battles. anybody interested? (The Tech Salon is in the L5P area...and it is what we call our house...we're like that; yes.)

OK, so maybe it isn't an RPG, but does anyone here play Anachronism? It's a card game produced by TriKing games in association with the History Channel. I've always had an aversion to card games, and I despised Magic. Thankfully, Anachronism seems to be everything that Magic isn't: no random card packages (you know exactly what you're buying), no shuffling, a match lasts about five minutes, and they're not going to reinvent the game every few months and render all your cards obsolete. My favorite part is that the game actually has a bit of basis in history: the character packs are all famous historical or mythological figures with their own support cards (a weapon, a shield, an item, and a motivation, usually).

It's not a great game, but what do you really expect from cards where no money is at stake? It's an easy game, and not too expensive. A character, with four support cards, is about seven bucks. The cards are on heavy stock because they don't need to be shuffled, and the artwork is quality.

Anyone here play it? What's your take?

Hey,

I am starting a game down in downtown San Jose (my place) that will be heavy roleplaying (not roll-playing). Here are details:

1. It will be twice a month, on Friday nights (we wanted a "weekday night" to avoid the "marathon session syndrome", but one member lives in SF -- we will sometimes end the night with a pub crawl, to make up for the inconvenient choice of nights).
2. The campaign is ~1850 China. This is at the cusp of the 2nd "Opium War" as well as the "Taiping Uprising". The former was essentially a trading war between Britain & China, and the latter was a "cult of Chinese Christians" against the Confucist empire. I am not gonna follow history exactly or anything, but I wanted to give a setting with some history to it, and vastly different from the stereotypical "Middle Ages Europe"-fantasy backdrop. I am going to keep things somewhat "fantastic", though.
3. We will be using the "Savage Worlds" rules, which are quite a bit easier than D&D / D20. One major difference that will affect game play: having massive battles is quite painless, so I suspect characters will be helping to shape major battles at some point.
4. We already have 3 people, two players and me, who are all adults (~30 - 40-ish). I think it would be awkward for anyone too much younger than that, just due to differences in interests.

Please contact me via replying to this post, or reply to me via tribe. Thanks!

We already have the group pretty much settled, but would like to add one more person. First game will be 3/24 and characters/general concepts have already been set up.

New 'RPG model' - custom book generation of RPG's

I offer this ingenious idea to you for free.
I also posted it to http://rpg-creators.tribe.net

ANYWAY, here's the gist of the idea:

Game Designers release CD's w/'core rules' + splats. CD contains character sheets, NPC generator(s), and maybe some nerdy tools like die rollers or whatever. People use CD to print customized books, and don't gain access to rest of the material.

GM buys CD and prints up the 'GM rulebook', adding or removing optional rules as they like. They can post their 'game settings' online if they want, maybe even on the game's forum site. (The settings could be an .xml file that anyone could see through if they want.)

Gamers use the 'player' CD to generate their character. The CD helps the player 'build a book' that includes everything their character needs, nothing they don't need, and contains the GM mods, and they can print the book out -- and send a 'config' file to the GM so they can see what the character is.
Players also can print 'future' sections for their characters by listing some areas they'd like to grow and see the options for those paths.

(Game Creators could pool their resources to make this framework for this 'game printing' kit. If it's standardized, it'd be easier for designers & more fun for players, IMHO. Maybe make it 'open-source' and have some programmers make it for free, if you can coerce enough prog'ers.)

** THIS REVOLUTIONARY IDEA will cut down paper waste, gameshops being flooded w/unneeded splat books, and make games cheaper for gamers **

A few additional thoughts:
If player or GM wanted a sexy hardbound book, they can send their config file to the publisher and pay the $40 or so to have it printed & bound.

Players might not know what a 'mysterious' character (or object) could do, b/c THE RULES WOULD NOT BE IN THEIR HANDS. Only the GM & the applicable character would know what their options were. Imagine a fantasy game where only GM & magic player know how spells are cast, or psi characters and GM only know the available psi powers. The 'oooh' and 'aaaah' are immediately back! (Same goes w/Magic Items, Cyber Gear, mutations, superpowers, etc etc) The same concept is applicable to NPCs & monsters as well.

The RPG CD can come in a hardbound (or just nice quality) quick ref sheet or GM screen, & has sample PCs & NPCs & monsters or background flavor, so the new gamer can appreciate what's being offered.

The printing companies could lose in profits -- but their production costs would drop like rocks. Their net profit might be higher if they have more volume, b/c CD's could be released for $10 or less -- for an entire game. The printouts could still have beautiful art imbedded, so the quality could still be high.

Game upgrades, a la D&D 3.5 (which was infuriating to those like myself w/all 3.0 splat-books -- I stopped playing), would cost maybe $5 or $10 for the entire game.

Game updates could be posted online & added into game for a minor fee, like $1 or so.

** I give this idea to all of you and to the world. If you do it, give me a credit. :D -- rekz karz **

I'm hoping to start up a T20 group, but I've never actually played, so could use some hints on play style and such. I'm used to Shadowrun, where you got your handy fixer to get the ball rolling, but there's no such deus ex machina in Traveller I'm afraid. And the book doesn't give much help either beyond some vague tables.

((And yeah, i'm tossing out all the extra races, and altering the timeline/background a bit, and generating my own universe... Yeah, i'm a glutton for punishment, but I can't stand having dogmen and talking bears in my game. At least not at the start...))

My current plan is just to have them all start on same planet (that's just getting back into the spacefaring business) and answer an ad for an extended working passage deal. You get room, board, passage and adventure on a ship, plus a cut of whatever profits you can scrounge up. A franchise if you will. Don't care how you make the money, just don't come back without some.

I'm just wondering how this gonna all pan out, and if there's any pitfalls I should avoid.

I'm doing Iron Heroes, and was wondering if anyone is interested in trying it out? I'm located in downtown Oakland, next to Chinatown & Lake Merritt, and am looking for a total of 5 players. Newbies very welcome, and I'm totally down to show how Iron Heroes works for those who don't own the book. Expect action-oriented sessions, fun, crazy encounters, and some good fun.

Please email me at yeloson-at-earthlink-dot-net, as I don't check on this site all that often.

> [Stargate] is probably the best modern/ sci fi I have seen in D20.

What about d20 Future? It's ... certainly open enough! HA HA

I liked the expansions from Polyhedron --> Iron Lords of Jupiter and Dark Sun series. (Tried combining both, didn't work well -- but it was b/c I abused my players by having NPC's who were too psionic, I think.) I love those Polyhedron expansions! They also had SpellJammer, Mecha rules, 'Omega World' (from Gamma World), and some things that weren't great.
(Look for the .pdf's of various Dungeon mags on any filesharing app, if you want 'em.)

I've got Midnight, don't like it much. Not impressed.

Bought d20 Apocalypse, hoping that's good, it's in the mail.

Got Darwin's World, kinda like it. Post-apocalyptic mutants. :>

Also Polyhedron "Omega World" which was pretty coolio too -- but more of a Beer & Pretzels game.

What about Star Wars? If you 'drop the Jedi' and perhaps include Psi, Clerics, or Magician types, things could be fun, no?

Last comment --> I'm one of those dorks that loves Dragonstar. I didn't like much of the world, but I enjoyed the tech ideas. The main complaint was that future weaponry & stuff was so overpowered... But you'd think it would be, right?
