Gamers,

If you're posting a game or a demo, please say what and where in the header.
If you post "Is it just me" (or similar) as a thread subject going forwards, you might get deleted.
Please lets keep this baby streamlined!

If you wanna chat about preferred systems and so on, put the topic in the subject!

Or go post whatever you need to at The Forge. :)

Which FYI happens to be an AWESOME site, esp for indy gamers.

Excellent advice, no matter WHERE you post it! Zip codes and/or area codes are usually good ways to limit search areas.

Are "general interest" or "chat" topics disallowed?
I had thought this topic was just fine...

Why not? But the topic needs to be clear... Which is why I referenced
"Is it just me" as a not useful thread heading. That thread is about
how sucky someone finds White Wolf games/gamers.

So why not have the nuts to say "Is it just me, or do all WW games suck?"
      as your subj header?

Actually, that thread from the original poster was about FINDING other WW gamers and feeling like he was the only one, not how sucky they found it. It evolved into something else along the way, but you're titular example for that post is off.

          > Actually, that thread from the original poster was about FINDING other WW gamers

Actually, the OP was interested in other *non-vamp* WW players (being able to find V:tM players, but not Werewolf).
Which is NOT to say that WW games, gamers, and the "World of Dimness" in general are NOT sucky -- just, that
          wasn't the OP's point. ;-)

Still and all, I take the point of Our Friend the Moderator: subject headers should be more-informative. How 'bout:
"WoD gamers: too many vamps / too few weres?"

Actualy, It was about if how hard WW gamers are to find. I am sorry about the topic as I was Brand new to tribes and that being my first post. I also happen to be a woman...lol.

Although I do have to say I feel a little singled out here. LIke I said, That was my first post on Tribes. A descrete message or something would have been nice.

            BTW, thank you Steve.

Note that the person criticizing wasn't criticizing YOU, but the issue/habit in general: the message was for general consumption.
Yours just happened to be the lucky "instance" selected by Our Friend the Moderator. :^) Doncha feel all special now?

Also note that the "newbie" or "first post" status isn't any sort of defense or claim to immunity (this is generally true in most places on the 'Net) -- the idea is, "First Posters" should have been lurking for a while, and have understood most of the groundrules. That said... *I* for one hadn't realized that we were supposed to craft our Subject-lines with such care and clarity. It's good to know... <eyes OFtM> Not wanting to be mistaken for a Commie Mutant Traitor type poster...

Remember: the Moderator is Our Friend! < afixes over-bright smile on face; searches desperately for a clone... >

OMG he IS an unlicesed mutant were-gamer commie traitor...! It is obvious from his statements that he has been reading manuals that are above his security clearance... Shoot him... shoot him...

... and then shoot me, cause I obviously read the same ones... DAMN...! <Starts looking for his own clones>
            • DarkWingedFae,

I apologize that i made you feel singled out or that you felt I said you'd done anything bad,
it truly was not in any way about you -- however, if I'd just private messaged you back,
              no-one else would benefit.

Not that anyone follows suggestions anyway. :)

I have the power to delete threads, but I only delete stuff that is obvious SPAM.

Lastly, I should say that I thought your WW post was quite interesting &
generated some interesting convo's. I for one was a MAGE player, and finding
a game of Mage is not the easiest task! :)

Maybe part was I got grumpy b/c I try to read all the threads & make this thing use-able.
But my dream of a tribe where people say their games & gamers UNITE to play...
may have evolved into a group dream of something else?

              PEACE

may have evolved into a group dream of something else</quote>

I think by the simple geographical reality of the tribe it would have to become something more exploratory of games than uniting to play. No one in any of my gaming tribes is anywhere less then an hour from me, and that is three people in nine large tribes at least in my state. LOL

And online kind of loses the social aspect of the true joy of tabletop rp games. Although one of my lists promoted an idea (I have forgotten who I am quoting and what group, this is NOT my idea, but I can't remember who to credit) of using Teamspeak with one of the online programs like Grips (I do not mean Gurps. I mean that old any system connect to play program) to mitigate that factor. I would joing something like that where I could at least talk to and hear other players and get something social other than text on a screen. :)

Maybe you could unite us that way?
