OK, so maybe it isn't an RPG, but does anyone here play Anachronism? It's a card game produced by TriKing games in association with the History Channel. I've always had an aversion to card games, and I despised Magic. Thankfully, Anachronism seems to be everything that Magic isn't: no random card packages (you know exactly what you're buying), no shuffling, a match lasts about five minutes, and they're not going to reinvent the game every few months and render all your cards obsolete. My favorite part is that the game actually has a bit of basis in history: the character packs are all famous historical or mythological figures with their own support cards (a weapon, a shield, an item, and a motivation, usually).
It's not a great game, but what do you really expect from cards where no money is at stake? It's an easy game, and not too expensive. A character, with four support cards, is about seven bucks. The cards are on heavy stock because they don't need to be shuffled, and the artwork is quality.
Anyone here play it? What's your take?
