about the game universe.
Futuristic but only about 300 years out. No alien races
but space stations, advanced weaponry+armor, planetary
expidition teams and colonization. This is the beginning
of human exploration outside of the solar system. Travel
has been recently revolutionized by jump drives - large,
bulky, power-hungry and needing tremendous calculation
to set up, but a jump allows travel enormous distances,
impossible to match by sub-light travel.
Probably some cyberpunk stuff, but not a big emphasis.
You will be affiliated with an interplanetary mercantile firm
in some way and will be serving aboard a merchant ship.
The society is planetary capitalism, regular humans.
The adventure recomends a scientist in the group, as well as
characters with Mechanic, Vacc suit skills, and a character
with ground combat skills. Other than that, flesh out a character
with skills that you find appealing - there are many creative
and unconventional uses for even mundane skills! :) -

I'm still not sure why we used GURPS, b/c it takes forever to make a character, and then resolving conflicts is very complex...? -

Mon, August 13, 2007 - 6:35 AMSorry to hear that. I've been in a semi-regular GURPS game for quite some time now. It gets pretty quick and efficient once you learn it. The complexity is modular, you can go as deep as you care.
