Bet (Sacramento area, Caifornia)

OK. So I've made a bet with my wife...

She has had some bad experiences getting together a role-playing game. She likes to play but has found that when we post an ad looking for players, they will call, and as soon as they find out the DM is a lady, they no longer want to play...

We have had this coroborated by the fact that when we leave my cell phone number and say that I am the DM, we get calls from the same people, who then want to come over and play...

So the bet is this...

The wife says that I will be unable to put together a group of players that meet the following criteria:

A) Non-Smokers (She is allergic)
B) Willing to play in a game run by a female
C) Willing to play in a "somewhat family friendly" game (We have
a 12 year old who plays.
D)Will show up consistently and not flake out

I need to find 3-5 players between now and Feb 1st. If anyone out there is interested, please call me on my cell any weekday after 5 PM at 549-3436. If I don't answer, please leave a message and I will get back to you ASAP... Thanks,

-Kris

Here's a datapoint for you, FWIW:

Our group of gamers has an 11-year-old (my son) up to a 50-year-old (one of the other players, of 4 adults). 2 adult women, 1 GM's and the other has previously, but hasn't yet GM'ed for this group. Previously, we had 2 more adults regulars, and several "flakey" players who sometimes played and sometimes didn't. Nobody smoke(s|d).

So, except for being in Sacramento... we already HAVE that group.

I agree, the non-flakey part seems to always be the biggest problem. Non-smoking has never been a problem for my groups. The kid is probably the second biggest hurdle.. but I'd think you should be able to overcome all of those.
