There are a numbers of games run in the Charlotte, NC area. These are the old fashioned sit at the table with dice and book kind of games. Computer gaming is fun, but nothing beats the in your face Games Master and fellow player games. Who is playing what and where?

Achbar -- given the international scope of the Internet, and the generally SF/California centricity of Tribe overall, you'll probably not get many replies from Charlotte... Or were you asking more-generally?

Tue, December 4, 2007 - 10:09 AMI'm running a 1st edition AD&D Greyhawk campaign in NYC.
It's fun, partly because this is the first campaign for most of the players. -

Re: What game are you guys playing and running these days?
Wed, December 5, 2007 - 2:58 PMRight now? Well, I'm running a Rippers (Savage Worlds) campaign and a Wheel of Time d20. I'm playing characters in a Rifts game (my fav at the moment), and occasionally enjoying a night of Oriental Adventures as a samurai (I still think that book sounds like a bad porn). I spend waaaaaay too much time and $$ on gaming . . . but it's never enough.

Re: What game are you guys playing and running these days?
Tue, December 11, 2007 - 5:04 PMI game in the Puget Sound area with two different groups on alternating weekends. These days it's been a friend running Silver Age Sentinels; she had to finish up a Halloween game. I ran a Savage Worlds one-shot last month that was set in 1937-38 during the Lake Khasan. It was a start for a multi-generational time line to lead into the Vampire Earth setting.
I think I'm supposed to run again on the 21st. If so, I'll probably run a Savage Worlds game set in Vietnam. It'll be air combat, blending some touches from the Phantoms board game rule set. The last time I ran it for two different groups last year it was quite well received.
I might dust off the GURPS books, but that remains to be seen. -

Re: What game are you guys playing and running these days?
Sat, March 1, 2008 - 2:24 AMPRIME TIME ADVENTURES here in Berkeley.
Most folks are playing D&D, but I can't figure out ... WHY? It sucks...
:)
Altho I admit, I did buy a bunch of d20 Modern books.
DAMNIT, I took the Hasbro plunge! -

Dunno 'bout you, but I play d20 'cos it's the game most-likely to be played/playable with others.
Sure, I'd *rather* play other games, but if I wanna game... I've more-or-less gotta have it in my
repertoire. It's like the ante... THEN I lure 'em over to (e.g.) Ars Magica. ;-)
